Hands held tightly in the dark
A forbidden dance, a secret art
You twirl, I spin – we shy away
Gone by dawn, one must not stay
Daylight shows these upturned masks
Moonlight sheds false skin at last
Whose to say one side is better?
What will show beyond these tethers?
A silent nod, a fleeting glance
A room apart and left to chance
And turning turning in the night
We both pretend it’s all alright
But morning comes to break the spell
It is finite this lovelorn spell
So break away and take a bow
Be content with this, that’s all for now
To the mask behind the Shadow Play, the sister of the Noir Thanks for the inspiration.
