The Siren’s Song

I like to live in the moment
Surrounded by these walls
Dream of swimming in the ocean
But afraid to leave these halls

I want to say that I miss you
But I won’t pick up the phone
Can’t I tell you that I love you
Yet remain here all alone?

Let me ride on with this feeling
Half amusement, pure disdain
Let me wake each day not knowing
When the hurt will come again

So let me stay here silent
While my heart screams out this song
Can’t you hear it there, wherever?
Asking you to come back home.
