Daily Prompt Nov 4: Courtesy of The Daily Post – Singin’ in the Rain: Safe inside, toasty warm, while water pitter-patters on the roof… describe your perfect, rainy afternoon.

Your arms are wrapped around me
A feeling I can’t explain
Of being profoundly happy
And yet stuck here as it rains

The windows are all but foggy
As the droplets trickle pass
THe clouds are dark and murky
And yet I pray it lasts

A cup of coffee and cig in hand
My head against your chest
Your music in the background
Allows for a bucolic rest

My hands reach out to you
And cup your face against my palms
Your breathing soft and easy
Lulls me away from any harm

So we stay here as it’s raining
A perfect lazy afternoon
And quietly affirm our bond
As clouds part for the moon.
